Great place for chicken and I will go back for it in the future. So here's why I only give it four stars. It's a very no-frills place, lacking in pretty much everything else. It's cash only, so that's the start of it. No facilities either, it may as well be a "to-go" only establishment, but they do offer some booth seating inside.

Everything just feels very old and worn in, but without any quaint or antique charm, like the empty fish tank or the Ms. PacMan machine (it's broken now). No TV in the small dining area. There's no air conditioning either, so it's pretty warm in there even in the winter (Hence the empty fish tank?). Customer service-wise it's also no frills. The ownership is pleasant enough but doesn't fall under the Chik-fil-A "big smiles" school of interaction, so if you're the type who demands people to bend over backwards for your Hamiltons, maybe go somewhere else. Make small talk though, they're nice enough.

The chicken itself could be considered a little lacking in seasoning for some people. Personally I really like that it's very natural tasting rather than salty, spicy, or peppery, but your mileage may vary. Chicken has been dry in the past, so quality can vary a little bit, but usually it's quite good.

Chicken gizzards come nicely batter dipped and fried but are a bit tough and chewy without a ton of flavor. Maybe I just haven't had enough gizzards in my past to have a good baseline for what they should taste like, but generally I'v'e not been impressed with offal and gizzards are no exception. At least they didn't taste strong or foul.

The broasted potatoes are very lightly seasoned. Also very natural in quality and good, but I'd recommend using your own dipping sauce of choice if you're the type who likes your flavors bold and/or 'taters wet.

Everything else on the menu I've tried is essentially store bought.

They have deep fried shrimp there, but they're essentially the same battered, butterflied shrimp you can find at the supermarket. Not bad, but not unique. Not a knock against them, but you could just go buy and fry your own, or just buy theirs if you don't want to bother.

Fried zucchini sticks are smallish, like a typical carrot or celery stick in size, but a bit thicker. Also feels store bought and unexceptional.

Macaroni salad is good but also seems like I've tasted it before at virtually any other restaurant.

Bread is a standard dinner roll.
